Harriet Cohen by Emil Otto Hoppé
Vintage bromide print, 24 July 1920
Pianist. Although particularly associated with Bach’s music, Cohen performed a wide repertoire of standard classics as well as new music. Constant Lambert, among others, wrote for her, and Sir Arnold Bax, a close friend, composed Concertino for Left Hand for her after she lost the use of her right hand in 1948.
